The installation of an epoxy flooring design on top of existing ceramic/porcelain tiles is never an easy task. Tiles are made from non-absorbent materials, hence making it hard for epoxy chemicals to have sufficient bonding onto it. This poses a high risk for the coating to peel off. However, in conjunction with the 29th SEA Games in Malaysia, the iconic “racing track” design epoxy floor at Bukit Jalil LRT station was installed over existing tiles. This was made possible with Dri-Floor EP 1050, an innovative primer for bonding epoxy onto tiles. Subsequently, the “racing track” pattern was installed using Dri-Floor EP 1300.
